where do you get your sizing dies?

I am looking for a .360 sizinging die.

Is there a good place in Canada?

Right now I am looking at a guy in the states who only takes certified cheques.

Preferably one I can use on my lee single stage

Just shoot them big :) if you need to put on a check then yea id try dragon lube. also brownelles or track of the wolf carry them i think. And no problem shipping from the states. I just got a .460 lee from TOTW 32$ Shipped

Yep, that's what I did when I wanted a .460 die. Bought a lee .457 and lapped it out with a split dowel, drill and strips of progressively fine sandpaper. I started with 220 and finished with 600 wet lubed with WD40. I stopped and sized a boolit fairly often to make sure I didn't go over. But I did anyway, but only by .0005 so my boolits size to .4605 instead of .460. Just take your time and check your progress often. this also works for H&I dies that are used in lube sizer machines.
 
Swaging or resizing die??? I assume swaging. Just call Lee Precision in the states and tell them what you want. They take Visa over the phone. Cost is reasonable. I have done this many times for some odd ball diameter.
 
Yes sir, I have even tried to chamfer the base of the bullets by hand. With a couple cases I have widdent the case with a .360 transfer punch and other then the case getting stuck on the punch, it worked way better.

That's when I decided it might be easier to resize the bullets to .360

If I understand correctly and you are getting lead scraped off by the case mouth than I would suggest using a neck expander die
Lee makes a universal case neck expander. It will flare the case mouth for seating lead bullets.

If you're using a proper 3 die set, it should have some sort of expander die for flaring the case mouth. What cartridge are you reloading? Every straight walled cartridge die set I have bought has had an expanding die. Every one of them will expand the case mouth too far if you're not careful, so I don't see the need for a universal expanding die anyway. Or you could try RCBS "Cowboy" dies as they are made for loading lead boolits.

yes, you are right. if using a straight wall 3 die set they should have an expander die but bottle neck die sets do not have an expander die.
so it would depend on the cartridge that is being loaded.

if reloading for straight wall you should have a die you can adjust the amount of flare by screwing the charge/flare die in a bit deeper.
do it in very small increments and check the flare often until you get the desired flare.
once you have the desired amount of flare you can lock the die in place by screwing the lock ring down.

I am using a lee hand reloader for 38s&w. As I mentioned before I flare and chamfer the base of the bullet.

I now use the die for the brass to resize my bullets to .3615. The ones I bought come in around .362 - .363. I get a lot less scraping but still get some from when it goes past the lube channel.

My biggest problem now is that with the oversized bullet the case gets stuck in the die when I try to dotthe crimp. I have to use a rod to knock it out. This marrs the tip of the bullet and drives it further in the case

I have taken apart a winchester round and reassembled easily. The 145 grain bullet was .358.

The only answer is to buy a proper set of lee dies for my single stage. I just hope it works for the .360 - .362 bullets.

I'd still like to get my bullets resized for .360

thanks folks, sometimes the only answer to a problem is to throw money at it.
 
There's a fellow on the cast boolits forum called lathesmith who makes up Star and Lyman/RCBS sizing dies in any diameter. He's quick, good and inexpensive.
