Stuff like magwells, extended/ambi safeties and slide locks, etc etc.

I can find a million online retailers in the US but because export of gun parts is so tightly controlled these days Im reluctant to even try ordering from one of those places.

Is there a Canadian retailer that carries stuff like this? Sometimes I think this country is about 50 years behind the rest of the world when it comes to getting things which should be commonly available in North America.

me too at brownells, or you can try Freedom ventures, they got good STI PARTS, although your limited to one make.

Where I buy 1911 parts...

Where ever I can get 'em... I keep a big 1911 parts box & buy extras as I find them. Got enough stuff to build a few complete 1911's from spare parts. Just need the bare frames & slides to build on....

I keep my Brownells order under the $ 100 limit. The 1911 parts are not an ITAR'ed controlled item AFAIK. Brownells would know. They are very professional and knowledgeable of the parts that are controlled by the US State Dept.

Otherwise, I just buy my parts from Gunnar at www.armco.com one of our CGN board sponsors.
