Where has all the 7.62x39 surplus gone?

im down to 20 crates of Czech surplus and 5 from some other commie #### hole. What I'd really like to see again is surplus 5.56.

I tried several types of 7.62x39 with my bolt gun, Sabatti 24 inch barrel. The most accurate was the Czech surplus. So much for my Hornady handloads. AE were really, really inaccurate. Much like tossing a golf ball down a drain pipe.

Just talked to my local CTC sporting good manager, advised him to bring in crates of x39 even at the increased price, they can't get it! North Sylva is out of it, so that is one supplier empty, and Westrifle is out I believe along with Marstar!

So the drought begins. Until the next container or two arrives.

Hope everyone got enough to last through, x54 and x39 seems to have dried up pretty good.

Eventually all the corrosive surplus will dry up, sure Chinese new non corrosive will be available but even now gets bought up pretty quick, and we will have barnaul and wolf, but days of shooting cheap ammo will be over, an sks will be in same boat al out Lee enfields and 8mm mausers

It's funny as surplus dries up sks will probably turn into 100$ guns again, the appeal of the gun is the price of ammunition, don't get me wrong they are a good fun surplus rifle, but once cheap ammo is gone the romance will be gone,

Not sure about That, I would guess that the price of an sks is mostly reflective of the quantity of sks that are available. as the supply of sks dries up, we will see an increase on rifle prices aswell. I'm using the Lee Enfields as a reference.

Locally we are $299 for 1200 czech and $330 for 1500 chinese. By the sounds of it my 5 crates are not enough...
