Where have all the Mausers gone?!

Joe, im not sure your collection could get any better with an original RC, pretty spectacular as it is ........I still salivate over the pics of your collection you sent me.

And while PORT K98s are available here, they are usually quite a bit more then $500
So depends on what artyman wants to spend.

Importing is doable but a nice matching rifle down there isnt cheap either, available but still not cheap. Could be worth it if that what your looking for.

Artyman did you find out about that scout mount? Im curious.

The Portugese contract K98s are really a work of art. Value wise their over a thousand now arent they? Im looking for a pre 1944 rifle in German trim. RC/ bolt mismatch, matching. Doesnt matter, price dependant of course. And yes Joe your collection should be behind glass :D

I still remember the RCs JP had at P&S a few years back. I should have jumped on one of them!

That's where mine came from. JP is a class act. Been thinking about getting a Swiss K-31 rifle from him. Can't imagine these will last forever either.

If you're looking for a nice Mauser, he has some of the Czech VZ-24 which are a nice rifle.

Definitely a class act, have quite a few firearms from him. The Czech rifles are really nice, but Im specifically looking for a pre '44 German to fill a spot in my collection.

Where did they all go???

Here's a few....

Long time ago I asked you guys how much would you buy it for and I had reply about how much people paid in 1980 or 1990. Well i ask again how much would you pay in 2011 dollars?

Cheers

Al

Lots of RC in the US are being found with rare codes. SS, totenkamps etc.and RC def have their place. Other then the rare codes, they dont have numbers matching value, but as a great shooter and a fantastic been there piece of history, they are nice.
I would thinkg a retail of $399 would be a fair starting point for a typical RC

I said $400, you say $399. is this the "Price is Right"?:)

Closest without going over! lol

lol, I was just thinking aloud. But its still a bit cheap i think. A average RC is going for around that in the US.......

I have seen RC Kar98s sit between $400 and $500 depending on condition, parts, code...etc. I don't know if you can peak into the crate before actually importing them or not but if you put them in that price range on the EE, they will fly off the shelf.
