Where have all the Wingmaster project receivers gone?

The rising cost of them is a CGN thing. I still consistently see nice complete Wingmasters at gun shows for $300-350.
I think I'll buy one or two next time...

If it hasn't hit your shows it will since CGN has been quickly becoming the go to place to determining firearm values even for us old farts :)
Cheers

I agree, they are still a bit cheaper at some local gun stores in the used rack than here on CGN. But they are on the uptick for sure.

WRT the ejector spring, Brownells sells a special tool for removing the dome on the front rivet without ruining anything. It lets you re-use the front rivet at least once for a spring replacement. Tac Ord recently shared with me that they often just replace the spring and trim the ejector shoulders back in the mill through the ejection port - which makes sense. I've converted a few myself, but I have generally been removing the whole assembly, modifying the ejector outside the gun with a hand file, then re-installing the ejector with new rivets and the longer spring. Next time, I'll try the TacOrd method i the mill - should save some cost.

Changing the rivets can be a PITA and costs more as I then have to re-blue the receiver. Modifying without removing the rivets is the way to go. Or just buy a Wingmaster with a 3" ejector already in it... ;)

It is definitely a CGN thing, I bought two over the last month locally (consignment) for $325 (60s vintage) and $300 (70s vintage) complete with nice wood and bluing

Why sell them for $250-$350 on the EE when you can list @ $500+ and it sells.

My 1952 cost $250 at a store not known for bargains.

So?? My 1950 cost me 75 bucks and it is mint. Most of mine I never paid more than 200 to 250 for in 12ga even some at $150 and that was mainly all within the past 10/15 years since 12ga I never stashed from the 60's when I started to gather them

Sure there are a few cheap ones out there still but not racks full as there once was like the years when the steel shot became law and duck hunters were literally giving their wingmasters away since back then no one told us we could just ream the fix choke to use steel shot

Cannot keep chopping and chopping theses for projects to think some day the stock of cheap originals is not going to dry up or get expensive

No I don't think so. These are Fudd Wingmasters, sold by Fudd gunshow guys. They either haven't heard of CGN or have, and despise it.

Yep they all despise it until they want to sell one or hear what they are going for here and don't think many don't know
If that was true what you say for me in my neck of this country I would still be picking them up for $100/150
See here it is different since we have very few shows and it only takes a minute for daughter dear to google one for them
Cheers
