Where in Paris was this picture of Hitler taken from.

While in Paris, don't take any pics of the French Legionnaire or as a matter of fact any police or military.

Things are a little tense right now as we all know.

,,,,,,,,,and before anyone says it, calls BS, YES, French Legionnaire.

They are guarding certain areas including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, as they don't have to follow the rules that the others do.

As my buddy puts it who lives there, the Legionnaire have war measures act like powers and only answer to the top.

CGNers shouldn't miss Les Invalides
A must see!

Yes I have been to Ft Desoto many times, it's actually just around the corner from me.

It was great until you had to pay to go into the park, put a dent into one of my cigar walking areas.

I have been coming to this area for over 35 years, bought a place when the CDN dollar was par.

D@m near $1.40 for a U.S. green back the other day!!!!!!

Where you stationed at MacDill?

I almost got arrested going into MacDill.

You used to be able to drive right on in,
we came up to the guard post,
he waived us on,
then all of a sudden all hell went down.

A airman ran up to the car pointing his M-16 in my face,
I said you waived us on,
sorry Sir,
I see your Canadians,
No Admittance now.

We turned around as they escorted us out the gate,
found out later in the evening that the Gulf War started and MacDill was the command center.

I know, I Know, I'm a thread HiJacker:p

Yes, I did an exchange tour at MacDill in the mid 1980s. It was a busy place at the time as it was the operational training wing for the F-16 in addition to having several Joint HQs in location.

This is the truth. They have special "executive powers" so to speak.

Also they are tense for good reason.

Vive la France :)

I was in Paris in 2014, it was a national holiday and they were everywhere, I took pictures of a group of police mingling around for something to develope in a nearby square but nothing happened , only a handful of protesters showed up.

It was tense back then.

I have had this conversation more than once, this seems to be the right spot^^^^^

I have a few before and after pics of the same spot, unfortunately Im in Florida right now and do not have access to my information.

Bob, if you will be traveling to the Menin Gate in Ypres, Belgium, lookup pics of Hitler there.

Easy spot to find.

I spent many hours with my deceased Military buddy doing the same all over France, Belgium and Germany.

He loved the before and after pics.

Thanks Cig and everyone else with the info, will post a comparison picture in a few months.
