where is the cheapest place to buy ammo

Im about to receive my first gun ever and I want to go to the shooting range. I was wondering whats the cheapest 2"3/4 shotgun shell, and where I can get them (online) or in Quebec store.

I don't know if they are the cheapest but I just got my first shot gun and I picked up 100 rounds of Winchester Universal at Walmart for 28.95. That's not bad I think.

That sounds like a good price... I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think the local shops stock boxes of 12 gauge for about $7. I can't remember how many shells though... Going by Cerendrad's post, probably 20 shells to a box.

12 gauge shells tend to be relatively cheap... the issue is if you start getting into less common gauges (10, 16, 20, .410), or into certain rifle calibers (which doesn't really apply here).

It's usually 5, 10 or 25 per box, I don't think they make 20 rd boxes. For cheap target stuff it's 25.

It might be ten rounds then... still, not bad, comparing to some other calibers/gauges.

Should be able to get a flat of 250rnds for 60-70$ at a gun store

They have boxes at Sail for 55$ i think its 250 target rounds or 70$ for win AA was there on Monday.

Bought myself some steel shot 3 inch mags for 12$ and slugs go for 5$ per 5 round box

Lebaron had a sale on cases a while back, but in general I've seen 100 round boxes of cheap target shells around the $30 mark just about everywhere (walmart, can. tire, etc). Not sure about online or Quebec-specific stores, but I haven't seen much variance in stock or price on the cheap stuff.

This is for 2 3/4" 12 gauge.

Wally and the Tire are good sources. Internet purchases are compromised significantly due to the cost of shipping.
