I am building a 7mm WSM based on a Stevens 200 (Savage 10) action. I am looking for a Canadian place to order a good barrel. I plan on using this a tactical setup so I want to work up to 1000 yards with it. Any recommendations?

Ted Gaillard and Rob McClennan make first rate barrels - button rifled / lapped.

We bring in barrels for the USA. Lilja, Shilen Lothar Walther. I should have a few 7mm 1-9 twist barrels in both CM and SS.

I shoot Gaillards. You can order directly from Ted. I don't think Ted does much smithing (??????) so can recommend Dennis Sorenson (Guntech) to spin on the pipe, Gary Eakin (winchester_70) to make a block.

Mick Mcphee (sorry, don't know how to spell name) is cranking out great 30 cal barrels, Gaillard is very hard to beat if not one of the best in Canada, also Rob McClennan, and Ron Smith(RKS). I've had Gaillard and RKS barrels with great success.

Ted Charges $350 for the barrel and I if you ask him nice and make it sound like you know something about what it takes to make a rifle accurate he will put it on for you.

He built my 7STW for me and his prices were very reasonable. Trued up the action(lugs, face, bored 0.010 over) Trued up factory bolt(face and lugs), installed bolt handle on custom oversized bolt, threaded, chambered and cut muzzle on barrel, tuned up the factory trigger all for less than $1000 after tax, this included the barrel and a set of dies.

Shooters Trading Post in Port Dover, Ont brings in Lilja barrels. That is where I got mine from. Brian gave me excellent service and had the lowest price of all Canadian Distributors.

What twist did you go with? I am putting a 1-10 Lilja on the 7mm-300 win mag I am building. I want to shoot the 162 A-max and the 168 bergers out of it. I shoot 180 bergers out of my STW with the 1-9 twist.
