where the heck is all the 22lr ammo?!

Low on the really desireable stuff here in the Hat, but the Outdoorsman does have some buckets of Rem golden bullets, and some Winchester 555 they are selling at $37.99 a brick...

38 dollars per box of 555 Win. is extremely high . Even at Canadian Tire here , it is only around 27 dollars a box , about 25 at Wal-Mart.......but then again , the big chains do have the buying power , sometimes it is harder for the little guy to compete in price......

I am having a tough time finding subsonics in the Hamilton/Burlington area. Anyone know where I can pick some up? Shipping prices online are steep so I'd rather pick something up locally if I can.

None (22 Bulk) in the Winnipeg Cabelas today, just some target stuff for 13$/50. Choot'em delivery expected in one month. Up till now, lots of stock, what gives?

Friends in Louisiana , Mississippi , Georgia and north west Texas are limited to one box of .22 LR ammo per customer per day at Walmart , Bass Pro and Cabelas , when they have it . Yesterday I did the rounds in Thunder Bay . 2 sporting goods stores/gun shops , Walmart and 2 CDN Tires . No .22 LR at either CDN Tire , none at Walmart , 6 boxes of shorts at one gun shop and a few boxes of high end target ammo along with some shorts at the other gun shop . That's it and no one has any idea if or when they'll be re-supplied . I have lots but would have bought more . No 100 round packs of low base cheap shotgun ammo , just some really expensive stuff and if Canada doesn't get some big shipments there will be a lot of hunters this fall wondering where all of the ammo is as the common hunting rifle calibers are in short supply also . Not just here . I just talked to the folks at Elwood Epps and they are way short also .

In my experience CT and WalMart dont really restock between December and August anyways. After th hunts over they just let the shelves sit empty until hunting season is coming around the corner again.

Man, I'm surprised the American aren't tripping over piles of ammo by now. They've apparently been hoarding it for years. At least as long as CGN has been around......

I have heard that some american brands are not getting imported into Canada- orders are just not being filled. I assume this is because there is too much US demand, but who really knows. Anyway- keep an eye out for places that stock/sell Euro ammo like SK, Lapua or Eley- seems that is still available and coming into the country. Most places around here (KW Ontario) seem to have some .22lr on the shelves, but none have a good selection and prices have gone up. Bought a brick of mini mags from Shooters choice in Waterloo a few weeks ago.

People cant find it in a few stores. Then they go somewhere and see it so they buy 4K, enough people do that and there isnt any to be found. Hoarding creates demand/shortages which creates more hoarding.

I've been shooting the more expensive stuff lately, which seems to be easier to find as nobody wants to pay $20/50 shots of high end target ammo. That being said, I don't shoot very much or very often......luckily really.

i bought 6 cases of cci minimag round nose from eagle hunting in richmond as soon as i herd that the distrubutors were not bringing in any good cci 22lr ammo, just rem golden crap, and federal crap. ive shot 2 cases so far and im rationing myself to 500 rounds per outing since i have a happy trigger finger. i hope we get some in by next year or ill be out. btw eagle hunting supplies still has 100 packs for 8 bucks.
