Update from Trigger Wholesale's facebook page as of this morning:

-DFAIT, RCMP, Interarms & Trigger Wholesale are working harmoniously on our rifle project. We should have some shareable information very late next week.

EVEN newer update from trigger wholesales:

Trigger Wholesale These items are not for sale or pre-sale. We have also dropped the name "Canadian Sporter Rifle Series" as this product will now most likely be sold in several countries. The name for the first of several rifles will be the "Interarms Model 2013 Sporter". As I have mentioned to many, this project has several moving parts. Although we are closing in on the target, too many things can change so we are not giving a date yet. Once we have a final piece of critical data (hopefully in the next 10 days) we will make a major announcement.

OK, here is somemore updates:

Canadian Sporter Rifle Series Update:

I know that everyone is excited and there has been a lot of hype on the internet but I will share what we are comfortable sharing at this time:
-The first of many rifles will be called the "Interarms Model 2013 Sporter".
-"CSR" or "Canadian Sporter Rifle Series" has been dropped as a name.
-Calibres will be 7.62x39 and 5.45x39.
-Magazine count, barrel variants, photos and FRT will not be shared at this time.

We hope to share more in about 10 days (Business days) time. We thank our followers and Dealers who are preparing to help us launch this product later this year.

Again from FB^^^^^^^^
SO it looks like we will be getting a rifle in 5.45x39!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I get it. just wonder who usually stocks their products.

when i called, i was able to find out who some of their dealers were in my area. They do have a dealer network already, but they arent listed anywhere.

again guys, the best way to get your questions answered right now is by giving TW a call.

You guys honestly think an AK variant is going to get approved for the Canadian market??? I heard rumors that an FRT would be released this week. Now there's less positive info and a "10 day" window... This will be most interesting. If it makes it in country, super. The problem with 5.45 is ammo. America is eating up a lot of surplus because its cheap which makes the supply scarce which drives the price up. Unless its cheaper than 7.62x39 I don't see it as a benefit.

As far as I am aware from the actual info the former CSR has NO AK related parts other than its AK-like appearance and is made either in part or as a whole right here in Canada... hence the FRT approval. So, yes I do think it will be approved for the Canadian market.
Sewktbk is admirable for sticking to his guns and not adding fuel and misconception to this topic...good on ya!
Bfiles is thanked for adding the additional factual information and not speculation and hear say
