Canadian Sporter Series Rifle Update:
*Info Release by Trigger Wholesale:
-Name has been changed to the "Interarms Model 2013 Sporter".
-The name has been changed because it will eventually go for sale in other countries (after the Canadian launch and channel fill).
-Calibres are 7.62x39 and 5.45x39.
-Barrel Length, FRT, Magazine Round Count are not being shared just yet.
-TW hopes to have more information in 10 business days.

excuse me...... but i just got back from the space station after 6 months........... what is this rifle? my google foo is weak. is there any images to see?

It is NOT an AK but it fires AK rounds.

Its not an "AK" round. Stop calling it that. Its 7.62 x 39. It wasn't developped for the AK. Ammunition is not proprietary to one firearm. Calling it an AK round is doing what the anti journalists do.
 
Actually, if you want to refer to the first gun it was used in, it fires the RPG round. But then again, ammunition isn't proprietary to a single gun.
The AK was designed for the cartridge, not the other way around.

I find it interesting that a lmg was the first to use it.
