Just watched "Pig Bomb" on Discovery channel. The show got me thinking. Where did all the wild pigs in Manitoba go? Ever since it was declared open season on them in this province they have been next to impossible to find. Considering how quickly and easily they reproduce, is it possible that we have killed them all? Sure would of been a fun hunt.

I'm watching it now. My Dad got a decent one a few years ago during deer season. The farmer's land that it was on had shot 16 or 17 to that point. Another farmer was raising them and they were escaping and breeding quite successfully and prolifically. It's open season, I've seen a few around, but never where I have permission to hunt. Sneaky little buggers though. As savvy as an old whitetail any day.
I think that they have been trimmed down pretty hard in some areas, but they are tenacious and will persist and even flourish up here.

Yes! I know what you mean! Don't get me wrong I'm happy we don't have the problem Texas has but it would kind of nice to have a bigger population to hunt.

Didn't know you guys had them in SK as well. Do you guys have tags for them or is open like in Manitoba?

I would love to go hog hunting.
