Hey all, anyone with aftermarket 1911 grips have any recommendations where to buy and what to get... been thinking of getting Strider's from Brownells, but would like to keep in Canada if i can. all opinions welcome!

Before you buy anything, visit the VZ Grips' website.

VZ's are great! and they are a great company to deal with. I've owned Strider Gunner Grips (and their predecessors made by Simonich). The Striders are ok, but the overall quality of their fit and finish is a bit lacking compared to the VZ's. For the money, I was actually disappointed in the Striders... But I have always been very impressed with the VZ's. go to VZgrips.com and look around. They have some very aggressive grip pattrerns that are every bit as good or better than the Striders.

i've was thinking of VZ and have looked at them before, but now they have what looks like two new colors out, but can only find the Hyena Brown, and not the Green that pictured with it and the brown is only in certain models! they also have on a limited run, VZ Recon grips in Coyote brown... wondering how that would look on my spartan... this is really tough call

Where to get 1911 grips?

BTW, I've scored lots of nice sets of 1911 grips right off the EE here on CGN..... just sayin'..... ;)

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. I checked out VZ and reviewed their website several times, trying to find a set that I really liked.. but I'm afraid nothing really caught my eye. So today I ordered from Brownells a set of Strider Gunner grips in Coyote brown. I will posts pics and my thoughts when they arrive. Again thanks for the responses! Cheers

If your heart is set on the Gunner Grips, try TADGear.com. They may ship them to you. Or you can always go straight to the source and try to order them form Simonich: simonichknives.com/gunner.htm.
