I was stripping my 1911 and I lost the tiny needle pins that hold the slide lock and the safty any one know where I can get a few sets ??

I cant seem to find them on a diagram to know what there called :(

It sounds like the 2 little pins that go on each end of the spring inside the plunger tube.
Armco lists the assembly for $ 10.00. I assume the assembly means the spring & the 2 pins.

Got a magnet ?? If so go over the area where you took the gun apart. You might find them.

PLUNGER ASSEMBLY

The plunger assembly is the tube that you see on the left part of the gun, right behind the Slide Stop and forward of the thumb safety, sometimes partially covered bu the left grip panel. It consists of the plunger tube, the plunger levers (slide stop and safety lock plungers) and the plunger spring. Its role is to exercise some pressure on certain areas of the Slide Stop and Thumb Safety, in order to securely keep them at their correct positions. Some people do a small dimple at the face of the slide stop on which the plunger lever acts, in order to keep the slide stop from moving upwards, unless it is pushed by the magazine follower.

I think this will help.

EXTREMELY rare. I don't take them out for general service work, they don't usually come out unless deliberately removed.

I tend to agree although I have seen a couple over the years that were loose. Maybe it depends on who made the frame ??

The plunger-pin/spring assembly is not normally removed for maintenance.

The assembly is not supposed to self-eject upon removal of the thumb safety.

There is usually a bit of a kink in the middle of the spring, to hold the assembly in place in the plunger tube.

If your spring slides in/out of the tube with little or no resistance, a bit of a gentle tweak of the spring with needle nose pliers, will help cure the auto-eject "feature".

This problem is very common with the Llama 1911 clones because of their design. Is your gun a Llama? If not, either the plunger tube is oversized or the plunger spring assemblay was faulty. To put it in place you have to push it in.
Anyway, I have some of those kicking around my shop. PM me with your address and you will get one.

I got a new spring for mine and the plunger would not snap into the spring, so I inserted all into the tube hoping the pressure would force it in.

NOPE, it make the safety and slide stop very stiff, opened it backup to fix and it launched! heard it bounce off 3 walls of my apartment! Found it though.

Next time take it apart in a clear plastic bag, you can still see what your doing and it will contain any flying parts.

If you are talking about the pins at each end of the plunger spring, I have seen some that were made in plastic, hence not being able to find them with the magnet. Give Gunner at Armco a call, I am sure he will be able to help you out.
