Hey all,

Well i got my PAL last week and I am going to buy a 10/22 very soon. I was just wondering where I should buy it. Lebarons is like 30 minutes away from me, Bass Pro is about 40 minutes but doesn't carrey 10/22 in stock from what they told me and Epps with way way too far north for me to drive. Is there a better choice in where I should buy it? Should I maybe even buy it online? Are there any other gun stores in the area I can go to?

Also, should I just buy a normal Synthetic one (around $260 from Lebarons?) or do I go with a differant model? I am gonna MAYBE mod it, I am not sure because I am not sure how much I will like it, so what should I do?

Thanks.

I plan on buying the cheap one as I have seen people recommend it before on other threads.

Well port perry is also pretty far from me, about as far as Epps in Orillia is, Hamilton is like 2 hours from me and I would waste too much money on gas instead of saving anything.

Would going to Lebaron be good enough or should I just make the trip to Epps or the place in Port Perry?

Thanks

Depends on who you want to support?

Lebaron has hit and miss customer service. I personally don't like the place for gun or fishing related stuff. I like their camping stuff and staff.

Elwood Epps or Williams are smaller shops and you will always get good customer service. Since you plan on modifying the 10/22, I would suggest Epps or Williams, since they will give you sound advice on how to do or best bets for modifications. Most of the Lebaron or Bass Pro guys just want to get a sale (if even that) and out the door. If you come back with a technical question, chances are, you'll get a cold shoulder or a shrug.

It's nice that one can get info from CGN, but it's nicer, when the guy behind the counter can whip out the same gun and show you exactly what and where you got to do something, to get the desired results.

I dunno where in the GTA you are that is 2 hours from Hamilton
I live 30 minutes the other side of Hamilton and the GTA is only 1.5 hours from here

LeBarons sounds convienent because they are close to you. However, without fail, I get bored and indifferent customer service at the gun counter. It's insulting. Lebarons is close to me and their prices can be pretty good but I always leave the store with a bad taste in my mouth.

I live near Lake Simcoe. I say GTA because I am about 40 minutes from Toronto and more people know where the GTA is.

I think I am going to give Epps a look but it is a nice drive since I have to drive all around Lake Simcoe to get there but it might be worth the trip. I just wanted to check to see if there were better places since Lebarons because it is the closest and I don't wanna go there if I am going to ge treated like crap.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I might just check out everybody and see who I click with the most.

Don't be a dummy.....LeBaron is by far the cheapest at $250.00. Save your money for the accessories you'll want to buy for it.

I picked mine up there at Christmas. I joined the club for $25.00 (I think) and then payed no PST on the rifle. Got a bunch of stuff on order with Hawk Tech now.

Go To LeBaron

There is also "I can't believe I'm saying this" Bass Pro in Vaughn

I have already been there looking for a 10/22 but they said they don't carry them in stock so that sucks.

Well that is also what I thought. Those little stores like epps probably charges like $80-$100 more so I was going to check out Lebarons today but didn't have time. Maybe I go tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip as it makes sense

Lebarons in Markham usually has them in stock. It is good to call first. The service can be hit or miss. Recently the store was not busy and I was checking out a few shotguns and I told them up front that I wouldn't be buying but they still showed me a whole bunch and spent 15 minutes with me.

Ellwood Epps has good prices, almost the same as Lebarons on firearms. Problem is the place is nuts on the weekends and the staff can't spend much time with customers. They have a huge stock and it is worthwhile going there just to see the place.

I am guessing I live not too far from where you are and yes, all the stores are a bit of a drive (except lebarons which is a block from where I work)

I think I will go to Lebarons as I work at 401 and Keele and other then Lebarons, Bass Pro shop is close but nothing else that I know of and also Bass Pro doesn't stock 10/22's as I think you have to special order them or they don't sell them at all.

So tomorrow I will hopefully check out Lebarons and see what it's all about.

I work 5 minutes away from the Dundas location. I ended up buying mine at the Markham location (last minute impulse buy) but I'm sure that they'll both have them in stock. Let me know if you don't end up picking one up right away. I'm a member at The Grange were you can try mine if you like.

ciao for now

Well I went to lebarons today but before I was about to walk in. I stopped and turned around and went back to my car. I was going to buy one at lunch but then I thought. I can't shoot anything in my backyard and a range is big money for me so I will wait until I sign up with a range before I go buying a gun. :(

Well I went back there today and accually walked in to take a closer look at the 10/22's The old dude behind the counter was nice and answered all my questions. They look like decent guns. I might pick one up after I get the cash for a range!

Anybody know which 25 clip magazines to get? He showed me some but are they any good? I am not 100% sure which ones they are but I swear they said Butler on them.

Thanks
