Been on import ban since the 90's.....good luck (and no, I won't sell you mine)
I've been wondering about this too. Where to get a Colt MT6700?
All it is, is a 20" barrel version of everyone's beloved Colt 6920 with a FIXED stocked. While the 6920's are rare, they are legal for import and do pop up.
Why would the Colt MT6700 be banned or un-importable/prohibited in Canada if other AR15's or other 20" AR15's like Stag's be perfectly legal?

I think they have one used at Al Simmons in Hamilton....
You're right, Colts aren't banned - the CFC/RCMP doesn't have anything to do with the particular brands that are imported into the country. It's more likely what the US government allows for export. They're in the restricted firearms class - just as any other AR is in the country. I'm assuming you're referring to the importation when you're speaking of "restricing the ar variants" in your last comment? In any event, good luck to you, and let us know how you do.
Cheers,
hsld.
