Where to buy a scherer slug plug for a Glock22?

I just ordered one of these from Brownells. Not the Scherer brand, but identical as far as I can tell, brand name is Jentra, for a G20SF.

They will also ship the ones made by Pearce Grip.

Wendell is correct. I remember trying to order the Scherer brand for another Glock and they wouldn't ship it. Not registered.

I have no idea who sells them here. Most Cdn retailers have poor listings of small products like this on their website and I'm too lazy to phone and explain what I'm looking for. :redface:
 
I bought mine from reliable gun in Vancouver. $15. Great product, helped me a lot. Do a google search and they will come up right away. Give them a call before you go to make sure that they have them in stock. I had to wait a week or so.

I spoke too soon.

I just learned that the grip plug is not regulated as a gun part. It is a "Non-Regulated Item".

So that means that you can order it from Brownells.
 
Some of them add weight. Some of them add a lanyard loop. Some of them add a storage capsule. And some of them just plug the void, as it were.

I believe there was a Larry Vickers test where he ran Glocks up against some other guns in really sandy, dusty conditions. They ended up having issues with crud getting in under and around the trigger bar IIRC. Now he recommends plugging the hole as cheap insurance.

On the other hand, when the hole is plugged, some people argue that you can't get as good a grip on the mag if you have to rip it out.

I have never had this be a problem myself but then I only have a few thousand rounds through my G20.

Ya we are in so many dusty sandy conditions here in Canada. Lol.

The interior of BC that runs from the border up through to Salmon Arm and contains Skaha lake and Okanogan Lake is actually the top end of the same desert that starts down at Death Valley. It runs up through California, Oregon, Washington and finishes here in BC. And yeah, it can be a little dusty up there at times in the summer. Good place to grow grapes and make good wine though.... :D
