I'M looking for a specific type of Aguila .22 rimfire ammo- its called SUPER COLIBRI. They are 20 grains with no gunpowder, just the primer powder fires the small bullet! They are very low noise and great for varmits! Bought some in the U.S. years back, but can't find em in Canada. Any info greatlly appriciated !

Wow, I'd never heard of these before, but I just watched some stuff on Youtube about them. They look like awesome little rounds. I'd love to hear about a Canadian source for these as well so I can give them a whirl.

Getting harder to find. My last couple trips south resulted in none of either. Glad I stocked up earlier. Gotta love the little 17 grain w/no powder.

There was some 60G at the gun show here yesterday. I re great buying some. But were priced at $12.95 a box.

The Aguila SSS 60 grain does not stabilize well in standard 1:16" barrels... it will often tumble and keyhole... sometimes badly. A dedicated 1:9" barrel is the way to go if you want to shoot the scud rounds.

I have no idea where to get Aguila loads in Canada??? Unfortunately I am out of my last batch of Golden Eagle target... which was the best shooting load out of my LR target gun. I would love to find the Aguila Match Rifle (Eley primed).

I bought some Aguilla yrs ago. terrible ammo back then. If you want quiet get some C/Bs. They are nice & quiet just about as loud as a pellet gun. Only come in longs as far as I know.

I agree with Pink on this one, have some and CCI cb's long or short are the way to go, lots easier to find and do the same basic thing, plus no worries of a bullet stuck in a rifle barrel, as colibri is sold for pistol use only. Yes I did have a bullet stick in my old long barrel winchester!!

The answer to the nearly weekly quest for Aquila ammo.
The whole Aquila ammo thing should be a sticky, IMO. It does not help that the search engine here is near useless.

Read the Importing Ammo info in the ammunition forum. Go to the NRC link provided, and look at the list of approved ammo. Search for Aquila.

That'll get the most up to date list of ammo approved for import. If it is not on the list, you won't find a reliable source for it, and the stuff you see otherwise, has quite probably been brought across the border by someone unaware of what laws they were breaking, Exporting ammo from the US. Or they knew, and risked it anyways.

There was supposed to be a fella in Montreal that was getting approval for the Aquila line of ammo, to distribute it. Strange situation. The ammo is made in Mexico, the distributor for North America is in the States, and selling all he can get there, so apparently sees no real need to pay the fees required to get an export licence.

Add all that info, some of which I am reasonably certain that has basis in fact :) to that the Aquila stuff I have had in the past was all low grade crap of the cheapest sort... Buy the stuff you can get and don't worry about it too much.

Cheers

YA, I guess I should of used the search forum first, not after my post! Seems like a difficult thing to find up here. I'm down to my last box and I'm getting worried! Trust me,I've tried every "low" noise round out there,CB short,sub-sonic etc, etc! Nothing compares to these little rounds, they are quieter than a pellet gun and are deadly to 25 yds.! I flawlessly have shot hundreds of rounds through my Rem. Fieldmaster with no issues! They are the ultimate low noise, short range round IMO . Would buy a brick if I can find one!
