I'm looking for the best place (price wise) to buy ammo in the Tri City and surrounding areas. I am willing to drive approx. 1 hr out of Kitchener to purchase ammo...so Mississauga, Hamilton, etc. can be done.

Im looking at buying all different calibers including .223, 9mm, 40 S&W, .44, .45 ACP, 30-06, 22LR, 7.62x39, and shotgun slugs. I don't want to buy cases..just boxes!

I know of Shooters Choice, The Gun Center (Lovetts) and Al Simmons. Also of course CT for shotgun and 22LF. How does LeBaron compare?

Lebarons prices are alright, but some ammo seems to be a bit steep ... i think it would be worth your while if your out around Mississauga to drive up to Bass Pro in Vaughn, they have the best ammo prices ive seen at any store ...

Why not shop local!

KW man myself. Besides Shooters Choice in Waterloo which I haven't been impressed with so far, CK Gun Room in London I've heard is very good.

I've found Lebarron and Bass Pro on the expensive side and often found the same stuff at Cdn Tire or Walmart cheaper.

Here are there websites for CK Gun Room. http://www.ckgunroom.ca/oscommerce/

I've been looking for 303 British myself. You would think that it would be easy to find. Not.

do NOT purchase ammunition at shooters choice unless absolutely desperate and willing to get raped. Their prices are shameless. Go to Al Simmons on Hamilton, you will not be sorry. its a much smaller place, but the staff are much friendlier and ammo prices are reasonable. for example: a box of remington (umc) .40sw 180gf fmj's costs $22 at shooters choice and thats all they got (they sometimes get winchester white box too at the same price). at al simmons on the other hand, u have a choice between american eagle (federal) for $16.95 a box or CCI blazer (brass) 165gr for $15.95. ALL ammo prices are cheaper at al simmons by about the same ratio ($17 vs. $22)
shooters choice have been feeding the customers the same story about raw material prices going up to justify their gouging for a long time now. no one else's prices are as high (that i know of).
