Where to buy ammo in Yellowknife

I'm going to be traveling south to Yellowknife soon and I'm looking to buy some ammo while I'm there. Beside CanadianTire, are there any other options? I'm mainly looking for 7.62x25 and 45acp ammo. Thanks.

I'm in a fly-in only community. The costs for Canpar shipping to my remote location is more than the costs of the ammo. I'm going to be in Yellowknife anyway, might as well just save myself the crazy courier costs and bring some back in my luggage instead.

Only place for 45acp is Can Tire, and you may well be S.O.O.L. with regards to the 7.62x25 Can tire does stock some surplus ammo, but I think it is all 7.62x39 and 7.62x54R
I will take a look for you tomorrow if you want, but the .45acp is certainly not cheap there. I think it was about $31 a box average, but I'll check first on the prices. Better bring a barrel of cash with you............... pretty soon its gonna be cheaper to buy a new Norinco 1911 than a box of the ammo to shoot out of it. Walmart here still has a skeleton selection of ammo, but it is all rifle ammo, and some small amounts of .22lr and .22lr shotshells................ sucky sad looking ammo case.

Thanks sgt.rock, much appreciated. I checked the CanTire site and they list the 45acp at $29.99/ box. Didn't see any 7.62x25 listed though. I tried using Google to do a dealer search in Yk but that was a joke.

Do you know anyone there you can have the ammo shipped to so they can hold it till you get there?

I wish... Unfortunately though I don't know anyone who currently lives in Yellowknife.

You could likely have it held for pickup at Buffalo Air, most stuff comes through them anyway.

Order through canada ammo. It would likely be free shipping, hopefully even there.
Unless it is free shipping, shipping ammo to yk is horribly expensive.

It's not free from Canada Ammo up here, my friend ordered from them this summer, and had to get it delivered to Edmonton where he drove out to pick it up. You can order and have it sent to my place if you want. I don't mind. (plus I don't have a 7.62x25, so you don't have to worry about me shooting it all up on you!!) Anyhow, no problems if you need me as your "place of landing" in YK.

Where are you from photog_shooter there is still one barge to the Wells and cut off in Edmonton is Sept 14.
I know someone who ordered 1000-9mm and 1000-223 and it was only $120 from Edmonton to here.
