I'm looking for one of the ones that attaches where the buffer tube attaches to the lower. Any Canadian retailers that have them at a decient price?

One Shot Tactical (site sponser, link at the top) sells them. Pretty good company to deal with. I do hope that you don't plan on using a single point sling set-up though...

Because the current 'gotta have the real s**t' drive is for two point slings.
Most operators (shooters with 'real world' experience) have concluded that single point slings have too many limitations.
Current slings in vogue include the excellent Vickers two point sling..once you try one of these, you won't question the loss of the slightly more convenient to mount single pointers...
In the world of us 'range commandos', the single point sling is just fine.;)

Single point slings are really fun for SMGs, but the AR is a rifle. 2-points aren't really the 'gotta have the real s**t' accessory to have. If you plan on using your AR in any position besides sitting on the bench, then a good 2-point sling does amazing things for obtaining quick, accurate shots. Try both set-ups, use what works best for you. FWIW I use a Vickers 2-point on my franken-AR and love it.

I could see using a singe point on a 10.5 gun but having tried them on 14.5 and 16" midlength guns they just dangle and swing around to much for my liking. VTAC on my 16" Middy and its great. :D

I am a big believer in using what works best for each individual. That being said, I am currently using a single point in "the real world" and have found it to suit my needs very well. To each his/her own, I guess.
