I remeber a few years ago, you could buy some bulk buckshot on Canadaammo. Their price was the best and it worked fine. They don’t seem to have that anymore. Anywhere else that still sells something like that?

You can also buy casting nipples on amazon and make your own melting tray to drip into water. Ready made set-ups are also available.

not quite correct, #6 shot is pretty much the biggest size that can be dripped and dripping in water is not a succes.

Just te be more clear, I was talking about buckshot rounds. Not shot haha. They came in 10x25 round boxes on canadaammo. Sorry, english isn’t my first language.

But anyhow, I have a Mec Sizemaster and I am fully equipped with Lee casting products. Their mold for 00 buckshot is crazy hard to run… you have to keep it insanely hot or otherwise the cavities don’t fully fill up before hardening. Is there any mod that can make it easier to use? I’ve read that some people open up the fill holes with slightly bigger drill bits?!

Maybe hook up a pid temperature controller to the pot to have better lead temp control.
Maybe you are not casting as hot as you think.

putting mould on top of the pot or on a hot plate with a cover over it to pre heat should help.

If you're still looking for factory ammo, CanadaFirstAmmo has cases of 250. The brand is Score, based out of Manitoba.

I just use a blowtorch to keep it nice and hot. No issues with their 000 and 00 molds.

I've started buying from them as well, the shipping from CanadaFirst was about 2 days (shipped from Calgary). Manufactured in Manitoba as you mentioned.

I expect they will outperform Challenger ammo, glad to have both the manufacturer and the supplier here in western Canada!
