going to be buying ammo in large quantities. there's SFRC that i can see, but there was also a place out in Alberta - anyone remember the name? they had a simple web page, selling IPSC / IDPA loads, etc.

where should i be looking? mostly .40S&W for now, but .45ACP is gonna come real soon.

I believe you are thinking of Combat Masters.
Good luck getting a order with them.I heard the guy isnt good a getting back to you.

combat masters is in ontario, wolfe bullets is in in Kingston Ontario which is way closer to you if you can do a road trip/ (2-2.5hrs).... just phone ahead and order what you need and on the day of pickup make sure to phone ahead and ask if your order is ready and tell them your coming.

Combat Masters homepage says they are in BC and Alberta and the page hasn't been updated since '08.

Cdn BDX is located south of Cgy...he makes good stuff at a reasonable price. Yes he is difficult to get a hold of and can be slow to get back, that's because he's running round the clock trying to meet demand and is growing his business. I've dealt with him and other than a bit of delay he's been great. In all honesty I'd rather have a guy too busy to get back to me right away than someone who is just sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring.....in the long run the chances of the busy guy being in business longer is better.

Combat Masters and Canadian BDX are the same company. The re-manufactured ammunition is sold under the Combat Masters brand name and the reloading components are sold under the Canadian BDX banner. The company is based in Black Diamond, AB but their products are available through dealers across Canada.

Where is the best place or retailer that sells reloads in GTA, or anywhere in Southwestern Ontario?
(Hamilton, Kitchener/ Waterloo, Guelph, Cambridge)

I do belive there is a place called "Canadian Professional Munitions" or some such out of Lethbridge AB.....

I had 500 of their 9mm in Jan of '09..... I wasn't very impressed.... It all shot, but the accuracy out of my 9's was terrible. It was cast and I have yet to see anything quite so smokey. I felt like I was shooting a Black powder Muzzle loader......

YMMV

Cheers!

Canadian Professional Munitions is long gone. They went under I am guessing 10yrs ago maybe more. They were located in Raymond, a few miles south of Lethbridge. Long story to their demise but they did produce a fine product back then in both ammo and bullets. Any stock since then is most likely sold off to retailers thru a receiver, or packaged in their old cartons.

Know anyone who is a member of Wentworth? Talk to them, as they have Frank's contact info. FWIW, I bought a 1k case of Frank's 9mm and I've been happy with it *but* my girlfriend's Tanfoglio Match has a short/match chamber and it has FTF with that ammo. I'd still buy his stuff again.

Did you mean Frank, guy with a trailer and a dog?
If that's him, I've seen him at Galt.
Very reasonable, but sometimes out of stock.

You should also try The Bullet Shop in Brooks Ab. 403-793-3245 and ask for Ed.
Great guy and very reasonable.

Cheers

My only experience with Combat Masters was buying 2000 pieces of "once fired brass" and then finding out that maybe 10% of the brass was once fired, if that.

These were range sweepings and no way were they all once fired. The headstamps were all over the place too... a dozen different makes.

I was dissapointed to say the least. I thought I was getting police training brass (real once fired stuff)... most of the brass I got were what people were discarding.

Needless to say I am hesitant to order again.
