Where to buy bullet molds in Canada?

Hello All,

I am new to bullet casting and while attempting to gather the required tools, I have found it quite difficult to find any sort of bullet mold selection. I can find LEE molds and that is about it. My question is, where does one purchase bullet molds in Canada? Any particular brands that I should consider or avoid? I am looking to cast bullets for .357/38 Special and 30-30.

Specifically, I am in search of a Lyman 358429 Elmer Kieth style mold.

Check out noe molds, awesome molds, I own several!

Also check out cast boolits for group buys. Mihec is on there and makes the best mold Imo.
 
If Lee makes a mold for what I need, I'll order it from Titan Reloading in the US. For most everything else I order from Accurate Molds in Utah. Every mold is cut to order so you specify your as-cast diameter and which alloy you use when you order. So far all the molds from them have been within .0005" of what I ordered. They can only go down to .300" because of limitations in their CNC equipment or something like that so for smaller molds I order from NOE or Lyman. In both those cases I order straight from their websites.

Right now the only NOE mold I'm using is a .269" mold that drops as-cast at .270" with pure WW's for a worn out 6.5x55mm Mauser with a groove diameter of .267" (supposed to be .264").
I have maybe 5-6 molds from Accurate currently ranging from .314" to .450" but I did previously have a full bore 12ga slug mold from them for a rifled barrel that cast 900gr .730" slugs.
I have around 10 Lee molds. Some of my first ones need replacing since I overheated them while learning how to cast. Aluminum molds are more sensitive to that.

I have been meaning to order a mold for 45-70 BPCR from Boomer. Maybe this spring.
 
I hear good things about Boomer's Moulds in Regina. See the more recent post.I spoke to him on the phone a year or so back, he seemed willing to make most anything, and last I heard his prices were reasonable. Cast Bullet Engineering in Australia makes good moulds and have a good selection, but their prices have gotten a bit high.

The best molds I own are from Accurate Molds. They last the longest and they are closest tolerances to specification of any mold I have ever owned. You can order molds built to your specification and bullet design, and have them in your hand in less than a month from time of placing the order.

NOE molds can (will) have alignment problems if you use them a lot. NOE has the best HP pin retention system if you cast HP. If they could get the alignment issue sorted they would be as good as Accurate.

MP molds are good but his hollow point system is maintenance/cleaning intensive and overly complicated. MP molds have got very expensive lately and the quality has dropped on my last few. MP is S-L-O-W. They sell on group buys ad you better have a couple years to spare because that is how long it takes to get most molds made at MP.

Lyman molds are OK but tend to be undersize, RCBS has better quality control than Lyman.

LEE is OK but some of their molds tend to be undersize as well. Good thing about Lee molds is they are inexpensive, and they do have some good bullet designs. For the guy who is only going to make a couple hundred bullets a year in a mold, this is the best bet IMO.
 
I like LEE and NOE.
I smelt WW in the summer and like to cast in the winter. At -30's and 4 + feet of snow, there's not much you can do outside
 
Wealth of info here. After putting 2000 rounds of jacketed bullets through the 45 acp last week
I have decided to dive in head first and ordered a bunch of supplies.
 
If You're not looking RN like snovers and postells. You only want FN killing bullets Dan at Mountain molds is in USA but quality is unreal for around 80-90 bucks american, but. Well worth every penny. Veral smith was the grandfather of high speed cast bullets and still is good, but I don't go to him for one main reason. Veral started when all or most casting was for handgun. mold block size ain't changed, so 458 and 50 cal stuff the holes are to close together
 
Thank you for all of the advice so far! Boomer's Molds out of Saskatchewan came through with a beautiful custom mold and I have managed to acquire some older Lyman molds from CGNers on the EE. Now I am building up my collection of lead!
