Very good information! Thanks!
MartyK2500, I am also interested in what your thoughts are on what to have on hand. Derail away!
I am no expert by any means, but it's someone that set up the CZ for me on day 1 of acquisition (cz was brand spanking new in box), round count is in the 9000s since march '13, and i have yet to have any failures. One thing i have been told and advised, when you run things on the edge like this and reload close to minimum power factor, good maintenance is crucial to get reliability. So i make sure my CZ is properly oiled INSiDE (i see too much people overall overoiling and it drips outside, then affecting grip), properly cleaned regularly (get that extractor out often and scrub it) and change mainspring/recoil spring every 3000/3500, some will say it's not necessary but why not they are worth nothing and you do buy a good bunch at a time. Here are the parts installed.
Thin aluma grips 100% covered with skate grip on weak hand side
Recoil spring, 11#
Main spring, 13#
Front sight, fiber optic, 6.0mm ( i went green as i track better with green, stock is 5.5mm and is shooting high )
Guide rod, S/S
Extended firing pin
Soft firing pin spring (the one they recommend at cz custom when you click on ext firing pin)
Trigger, cz 75, steel, serated (really gives you grip for your double, and actually feels real nice)
A few light mods include
Buffing feed ramp and chamber of barrel so ammo has better chances of feeding smoother
Dremel a bit off ejector, just enough to clear tanfoglio mags. If not they hit ejector everytime and when inserted quickly it can damage ejector. And why use cz mags when the tans feed better, easy install of bumper base plates, and look real shiny
I guess after taking the time to write all this, might as well head for the basement and take a few pics for the visual ones out there. Will be back later with an edit including pics.
EDIT :
Serated trigger
Front sight
Extended Pin next to stock one
You see when the tanfoglio mag is inserted, there is clearance. But at the moment you slam it in, it does push on ejector if ejector is not trimmed. Right now there was space between mag base plate and magwell, but if i push on mag the plate does go up and touch magwell. In that position it touches ejector if not trimmed.
