Where to buy LPK

Wolverine has Armalite stuff. Questar has various items. Brownells has lots of stuff.

If Neit can sell for $60, buy there. Otherwise, the best "deal" is the DPMS LPK from Brownells for under $60 and they ship to Canada.

If you already have a pistol grip, hammer and trigger, they have a LPK minus those parts for around $30.

Is there a difference between those manufacturers, quality wise?

There seems to be. For the small parts some have reported occasional fitment issues. I have used a DPMS kit and it was ok. However the DPMS stock trigger is sort of gritty so I didnt use it. Prior to starting a lower build make sure you have all the right tools and perhaps on some of the smaller springs extra ones.

The reality is that there are only a few makers of AR15 internal parts and they are generally made using the lost wax method of casting.

DPMS doesn't make their own LPK parts - they assemble their kits from other manufacturers, so from kit to kit you may not always get parts from the same factory. Generally though, I have had good luck with them. the exception seems to be the hammers, as DPMS hammers seem to invariably be slightly different shape than other makers' hammers and they seem to be the only standard AR15 hammer apart from the purpose-built 9mm hammer that is OK for use with 9mm uppers.

If you buy an LPK from another manufacturer, you will often pay more but might be buying the same parts frm the the same factory - as I mentioned, not all AR makers make their own LPKs.

How are you getting USGI hammers, disconnectors and selectors out of the states without violating ITAR?

GI M16 parts are full-auto or 3 round burst. As far as I am aware, the above three parts are verbotten prohib parts in Canada.

Yes, there are semi replacement parts. What are they used for?? Don't know, don't care.

As for ITAR.. It's not some mystical impenetrable barrier. It's just a matter of paperwork.

As for who/what/where, it's between us and US State. I'm sure there are lots of dealers that'd like to know that...

Not interested in breaking any laws and we're quite versed in them. Thanks for looking out for us, but we have people that do that for us.

I'm not trying to get into your shorts, it's just that if the above parts are not full-auto then they technically would not normally be USGI. As far as I am aware, semi-auto parts are by default commercial production, unless I am missing something.

The rest of the kits could very well be USGI made by FN or Colt or any number of sub-contrctors to the US military.

cool but backordered

Always someone that knows more than the Company that actually is importing the items.

Right - intelligent comment there, friend.

Show me a US Army-issued AR15. Oh, wait.. .there aren't any. They issue an M16 with different, full-auto internals.

I fully get that the kits are USGI. I'm merely pointing out some parts will have to be substituted with COMMERCIAL and I'd be interested to know what brand the commercial internals are.
