Where to buy night vision?

If you're that serious about buying US night vision equipment then go to gunbroker.com, they have a link you can follow of US importing companies that will import firearms, scopes etc... for you for a fee of course.

but not nvg. In other words, your info is useless.

Well you sure aren't talking TO me. You've been talking AT me ever since you responded to my question. When you give people attitude you will get it right back. I don't even talk to new privates in my battalion that way!
I forgot, this is the new day and age with the younger crowd that are very worried about your "self esteem" rather than the facts.;) I'll be more gentle from now on.:) There ya go, smiley face.

You assume a lot when you state that a dealer wouldn't sell to me. I haven't made a decision or any offers yet as to which dealer (or private owner) I want to buy from because I haven't finished researching yet. And no, I don't have any disdain for the dealers out there. I just felt that for $5000 I should at least get a helmet mount. Other dealers out there have been very helpful and suggested other devices that are similar so I've been taking those into consideration as well. BTW the second dealer only had a second generation 6015 model PVS-14. It was less than the other one and came with a few useful accessories but wasn't really what I was looking for.
Your deal with the first actual PVS14 didn't include a $50 helmet mount, and that's what killed it? Hmmmmmm
And the 6015 is not second generation. It is 3rd gen, but may have lower quality image tube. So again, we must compare apples to apples. So far you have found only one supplier that actually has a PVS14 for sale.

When it comes to getting myself a piece of equipment that could save my life, by any means necessary, I feel NO shame. What is shameful is the fact that I was issued an MNVG in Afghanistan that was not working properly and had bad image quality (I think the previous user used a solvent to clean it). I couldn't get it exchanged because there were no more with our company quartermaster. It's very likely that I'll be going back in the next year or so and I can only imagine what shape the equipment will be in when I get there after being passed from one roto to the next. By obtaining my own kit I'll be sure not to get another MNVG with a scratched lens, a defective image tube, and a torn eyepiece (try driving a G-wagen in blackout with a defective MNVG in this condition). To go over the border and bring one back myself is only a last resort option. If I have to side step the rules to ensure I get the best gear out there to fight a war for my country then so be it.
Sorry, it doesn't matter about your reasons, we on this board do not discuss breaking the law. Take this as a final warning on that issue, I hope and believe that it will not be an issue in the future.

Any one seriously intrested in a quality PVS14 with mounts, please contact me at Wolverine Supplies. I have one only, excellent demo unit that I may consider parting with, to the right customer for the right price. She will not be cheap as she is now irresplaceable due US export controls.

I'm not sure I can be considered "younger generation" but no one appreciates being treated like they are inferior by another. If you were out in the real world and not behind your keyboard with the title "super moderator" would you talk down to someone? Especially someone you don't know? Probably not. Enough said on that.

Let me explain things a bit better so you'll understand and maybe stop busting my b**ls over things that you are making assumptions about. The first dealer included nothing with the $5000 PVS-14. No accessories at all. He offered them as an extra purchase and asked $199 for the helmet mount. I didn't really like that deal so I passed on it. The Gen 2 item was the same as this one:

It was a Gen2+ not a Gen 3 so you are right, it was not a true PVS-14. It was only based on the PVS-14. It was a decent price and came with some accessories I liked. But it wasn't what I wanted specifically so I passed on that one too.

Now, after a tip from another member on here I checked out a site with a pretty good selection of shooting gear, accessories, and optics and is located in Canada. There is a PVS-14 there for $5300. Comes with head and helmet mounts, sacrificial window, eye piece, carrying bag, and demist shield. A weapon mount is optional at an affordable price as well. Now that is more like it! So I'm waiting for an email back to see if they still have it for sale. Thanks for the help guys. I appreciate it.

We have only every been able to bring in a couple of these.

Without an end user certificate your not going to get one out of the US.

You must be willing to wait months for it if it is coming out of the US.

Chance are very good that the US state dept. will deny the export permits even after waiting months.

There have been a couple board members in this thread who have offered ones for sale, and if your serious I recommend speaking with them.

Yes, now who is assuming things. Yup, I'm a dik. But then Cupcake, you got to harden up. The sensitivity meter, is set a little low I think, especially if you too are going to point fingers. Ya, enough said.

I guess the bottom line is, a $5000 unit, and buy the $300 worth of accessories seperately, or buy the $5300 unit with the accessories. 6 of one, half a dozen with the other.

I am personally tired of guys not supporting Canadian stores that do the effort of bringing in exotic items, only to be then told their prices are too high, "I can get (whatever) in the States for cheaper". It's not fair to them, and usually it's illegal. In turn, they stop doing things like that because they get burned, which hurts us all.

just in case it hasnt been mentioned umm you might want to kybosh any and all talks of getting things across the border without export permits ESPECIALY on an item of that nature.

i know i aint a mod an alll but well we all know WHO is watching. I dont wanna end up reading about CGN in the papers in a bad light ;). i also dotn want to see any of my brethern gun nutz getting in trouble with say DHS,BATFE, and the various other acronyms that attach themselves to items of military technology currently used in combat ;)
if you cant get what you want through the proper channels look for the next best thing that you can get through proper channels.
oh BTW there are a few CGN dealers that import from the US regularly using the approved channels and migth be able to assist you.

the only time i have ever seen one in civvie hands was when i was approached by a gentlemen about 2 years ago looking to sell me one for $2,500 still in its issued case. but for some reason the whole Cash only and the fact it was wraped in three blankets in his trunk and he didnt want to take it out of the trunk while anyone else was standing around kinda scared the bejezuz out of me. my guess at the time was that it was hot enough to melt steel. so i walked away made a mentle note of his plate and description and called a buddy of mine with the MP's.
