I've been searching high and low on where to find one. I called every gun shop I could find here in New Brunswick and can't find any.

Lots of places (locally and online) have the Norinco SKS, but I can't seem to find any place that has a "real" SKS.

Any thoughts?

" what is real , how do you define real "...:D

if norinco is not real then yugo is less real cos yugo was made later than norinco so the only real i know are the russian.

kidding aside, as for non-norinco SKS , EE is the only place i know, there is 1 yugo for sale and one sold recently on EE but no russian for sale, i dont recall seeing any for a long time.......however there is are 3 WTB russian and 3 WTB yugo on EE tho.

Yeah the eastern bloc siminovs are most deffinatly growing in popularity.
I'm glad I bought my yugo when I did.

If I had to guess though, I'd say the Russians are holding on to a significant number of these things still (judging by how they've been unloading an awful lot of Nagants, SVT, and capture Mausers) and will be unloading them within a few short years, how many millions of them did they make anyway ?

I am considering selling my Yugo M59 - need money to buy something else. It is exact copy of russian SKS-45, made under the Soviet license and on Soviet equipment. It does not have the funny grenade launcher and because of that it is balanced much better then M59/66 (the model with grenade launcher). It also has milled receiver, exactly as Soviet rifle. Many prefer it over Soviet. Very solid and reliable rifle. If you have any interest - PM me, if not - chances are that it is going to hit the EE soon.
