Where to buy non-Norinco SKS?

I am considering selling my Yugo M59 - need money to buy something else. It is exact copy of russian SKS-45, made under the Soviet license and on Soviet equipment. It does not have the funny grenade launcher and because of that it is balanced much better then M59/66 (the model with grenade launcher). It also has milled receiver, exactly as Soviet rifle. Many prefer it over Soviet. Very solid and reliable rifle. If you have any interest - PM me, if not - chances are that it is going to hit the EE soon.

PM, incoming.

Yah know Russian SKS's often go for around $150 Can in Europe right now. :)

I talked to a friend in Russia - an SKS in a great shape is will cost you about 8000 rubles. It is 25 rubles for 1 USD in Moscow now. So roughly it is $320 USD, which is $320 CAD.

Perhaps it is different in Western Europe.

Yes Western Europe appears to be cheaper in some stuff.

I bet his cost so high as it is includes the "permits/bribes" :D

That was the price tag in a store, not sure about permits and rest, but that would be extra for sure :)
However I believe that you could find a cheaper SKS there too. It depends on condition of the rifle, naturally.

Agent_mango is selling two sks in the EE for cheap and they look to be older ones "milled trigger groups and treaded barrels" which is a good thing. They are bubba up but beening sold for a good price. I would buy them But I like the classic look;)

sold pretty quick... the one for $125 was rather cheap, it came with an after market stock.

I've got my Russian SKS orderd and should be here in March. I'm in PEI and there's only one gun shop here, and he's getting 10 Russian's for under $300.00. It sounds steep but there are supposed to be of very good quality.Milled parts, not stamped and I get to pick from the 10 he get's. I's rather pay more and get a good quality piece.
I've never seen a Norinco and they might be very good but I've read in a few places the a beaten up and worn out Russian is still better than a brand new Norinco, but they could be wrong. I'm very happy with my Mosin Nagant m91/30 so I belive the Russian's make dependable guns.

I talked to one of the guys from Milarm at the CHAS show yesterday and he said they will soon be receiving an entire SHIPMENT of Russian SKSs. Gave the time at about 4-5 weeks from now and said they will likely price them about $250-$275. He also said they have 1700 cases of 7.62 russian waiting to clear customs.

can someone else verify this info? i would not be surprised that other dealers will be selling them other than frontier but 1700 cases? thats alot.

"Shipment" could mean anything from 3-200. 1700 cases isn't that much. Especially when you consider how many folks buy multiple cases to keep their habit going.

Cheap, available ammo is the limiting factor when it comes to selling SKS's.
