Was thinking of building a precision based 223/556 AR, purchase a pre-built one then making a few changes might be a better option by the looks of it. Even through all the troubles STAG has had of late, I still think they might have the best gun in this category, the Model 6 ( feel free to insert opinions here) Are there any CDN dealers with stock on these yet? ( saw Irunguns US has a few)

If not the STAG what would your suggestions be, Windham VEX, Remingon VTR, others?

Looking at Precision Rifle Series type shooting up to 500 yards and would like to stay with 223 as I am already reloading for that.

Armseast is the Canadian distributor of Stag Arms, but they don't have anything in stock.

Inventory is typically low for everybody this year, right after year end sales and just before new product ordered at the Shot Show start rolling in.

Not sure on Stag, but I own a WW VEX. It's awesome. I shot a service rifle match with it out to 500m with no problems. Shot it at 800m at the range as well with no problems. It's heavy though, that's my only complaint.

Check with site sponsor Arms East. IIRC, there's a new Stag shipment in the pipeline. Walt is good people. Having him source a model 6 for you shouldn't be a problem.

Check the EE if you have access.

I also have a WW-15 VEX - I have been getting sub-MOA performance at 100-300 with 75gr BTHP Hornady projectiles and Varget before my lack of wind calling experience kicks in and messes up my groups!

I also hear good things about the JP Enterprises uppers (I have one of the dedicated .22LR uppers and it's amazing)...or go all out and build one on a custom Krieger barrel - I've seen a few of these builds and they're awesome...

I have a Stag 3G which comes with an E.R Shaw 18"SS barrel with a rifle length gas system.
The only change I have made to the rifle is the addition of a Phase 5 Tactical EBR V2 and the replacement of the 15" Samson Evolution handguard with a Noveske 16.7" NSR Handguard.
I also own 2 Noveske rifles, a Gen 1 Afghan (14.5") and a Gen 2 CQB (10.5")

The Stag is every bit as accurate and as reliable as the 2 Noveske's.

I have heard great things about the Model 6 and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase one.
My only thought is do you really need a 24" AR here in Canada where it can only be used at an approved range.
