Where to find 44-40?

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know where I can find 44-40 ammo in stock, at a reasonable price? I'm just using it for the odd plinking in my 1873. Any help would be appreciated!

What do you consider to be a reasonable price?
Last time I saw some it was $79 for 50rnds.
It does tend to be a silly expensive round.

I've been squirrelling 44-40 away for a couple of months now. I had to pay $79 for a box @ Stittsville Shooting Range once, but have purchased a few boxes around Ottawa for $65 a crack. I've been buying the 38-55 as well....it seems to be just as scarce, but not quite as dear in price.

SFRC shows Hornady 44-40 for $18.99 a box. I've never seen it in stock, but it leads me to believe something less than $79.99 a box exists out there somewhere. Where have you seen 38-55 for a decent price out of curiosity?

The Hornady 44-40 @ SFRC is $18.49 for a box of 20....but they're out of stock on everything it seems. The Winchester is $64.99 for a box of 50 usually. Check Sail & Lebaron in Ottawa for your levergun calibers.
