I am looking to buy a Marlin 1894 lever action rifle in .357 mag. The only seller that advertise it is Cabela's and they are backorder. Does anyone know where I could get one in Canada?
Good luck! I read in a US forum that Marlin had stopped production on them for a short period and was supposed to start back making them this summer. Been keeping an eye out for them for a while...
The Big Boy is a really different rifle. It's heavier, the weight is distributed differently, and the loading mechanism is also different. It depends on what you want the rifle to do. I personally use my 1894C as my go-to firearm for carrying around with me pretty much anywhere a firearm is carried. I take it camping, hunting, and so on. I choose it because it's light, rugged, shoots well within reasonable ranges and I can easily carry a good number of cartridges in varied loads. It's light weight and slim profile are big upsides to me, and I didn't care for the heavier Henry for this application. If you just want to punch paper with it, the Henry would be a great rifle.
Thanks all for your answers
Yes I am a paper puncher and plinker. Henry's are more available. I know they are heavier but since it is strictly for range shooting...
Are they solidly built though?
