Where to find a Norinco 1911 Chrome 45 ACP & question about the Norinco distributor

I prefer the commander model but if you see a full size, i will be ok. Do you know if it's truth, the Norinco 1911 are no longer available by the distributor? The owner of my local gun shop told me that today.

Thanks

I'm no expert on what the dealer told you, but I highly doubt the 1911's have dried up. Maybe his distributor stopped carrying them. In any case if the used market is full of them in Canada. I doubt you'll ever have a problem finding one. Now, a chrome commander 45, do they even make those? Canada ammo has a two tone commander in 45 in stock for 389, but that's all I found. good luck in your search.

Sent a PM with dealer/distributor contact info and a link to the one that they sell.

I have a 5" barrel one, and I love mine.

I had an all chrome Dominon Arms 1911 with adjustable bomar style rear sight and usual details like beaver tail and extended slide lock and ambi safety. It had the look but the Chrome, fit and finish were rough. It was of course a great deal for the money. But I sold it and kept my older generation Norinco Commander that was a sweet shooter. Sold that one eventually.

Why? There are so many better quality 1911A1's in the marketplace better than totalitarian chi-com military junk!

I kinda like mine....

In fact the Norc compact/commander model pictured above is the nicest shooting "commander" model I've ever owned..... yeah, even over some "Colts"....

From what I have heard those so called Chi - Com Military junk pistols are made from old Railway ties they are tough as nails. nothing wrong with them . and some of us don't have thousands of dollars to buy the other stuff. they shoot and go bang right out of the box. and with a little work they will more than likely out last the other more expensive pistols in the 1911 style.

I have a 5" all satin Chrome with adjustable rear sight. Most people at my club, based on opinions of a few, despised all things Norinco. I bring it out to the club and let whoever wants to, shoot it. Opinions have changed.

There is not better mass produced 1911 available for under $400.00. There are lots over $400 that might be finished a bit nicer, have slightly nicer sights, but are either looser or have crappier triggers; and made out of way less durable steel.

I have this pistol and the NZ85B (CZ75/85 clone) and it is a dream to shoot too.

Both were so tight they did need a bit of tuning prior to use, but they will outlast me, and the next few owners, and I shoot them a lot; at least a couple thousand rounds through each in less than 8 months.

I also have two .22 Norinco rifles, a JW15 and a Scorpio, and have won completions with them and the 1911.

What more is there to say?

Rails actually, the ties are the black, cracked things that stink of, and are soaked with creosote; and are classified as hazardous waste.

Remember we are talking about goverment guys that have to justify their jobs, I have used many ties , under bins when I was still farming, building back stops , they are great, but they are hard on plants , so not good in gardens, and I would not want to stand in the smoke from a burning one. years ago, used them for everything, also took guns to school and shot gophers at noon on the ball diamonds, showed a couple young teachers how to shoot., guess I am dating my self.
I use to pay 2.00 each, years ago, don't know if you can still buy them.
I have seen the railway guys burning old ones beside the railway in sw sk. few years ago.
crap, here we go again, 1911's to railway ties, just like the P.M. answers a question.
What kind of hazard? I had a sand box made of old used ties when I was a kid. Used it for years.

I really hate internet wisdom. I once had to dispose ie, give away 450 lbs of unprocessed lead wheel weights, on the insistence of my wife because some idiotic website mentioned lead was unsafe.

I grew up playing with liquid Mercury as well as had dental fillings made from mercury amalgam, iirc.

Schools and homes were painted with lead based paint. Our family home had a lot of asbestos. My mother is still up and about at almost 90 yrs old.

I still feel bad about giving away that much lead

Causes Cancer they say... They won't even take them at our city dump... I have to keep them at home to keep my family company while they kill me and my neighbors LOL.
