where to find a PTRS-41

I was just reading up on the ballistic of the 14.5 x 144mm, holy ####! lol

Quote:
The projectile weighs 64.4 grams and is 51 millimeters long with a 38.7 gram core of tungsten carbide with 1.8 grams of incendiary material in the tip. The overall round weighs approximately 200 grams and is 155 millimeters long. The projectile has a muzzle velocity of approximately 1,006 meters per second and can penetrate 40 millimeters of steel at an incidence of 60 degrees at a range of 100 meters, or 32 millimeters at a range of 500 meters.

Ball ammo is available from Europe and could probably be sourced from China but the good people at the NRC will not approve that caliber for importation... They should all be fired and replaced by firearms frienly workers.

Any chance on forming brass from another calibre? 50 bmg?

images

LOL. maybe from 20mm Vulcan... it would be a pain as the case is huge and squeezing brass to that neck diameter would be a pain. You can reload for it, after you find some brass cases and modify them..... it gets to be an expensive labour of love.....

lol .50 bmg is not even close to the case size the base is about 1" I don't think there is any forming of anything that can be done best to get forming dies made over size and cut the base and tube on a lathe anneal it and then use a shop press and the forming dies to make it then final size with the normal dies and the big rock crusher press that's needed
