where to find mills bombs?

Well, a kindly CGNer was nice enough to point me to a very reasonable mills bomb that is missing the spoon and pin, but has everything else there. Also have located a base plate for launcher.

Now who has repro spoons and pins?

Re: the mills bomb

Is this what you're looking for? The pic might not be the greatest, but on the base it reads "No36 M Mk1" below the threaded hole it reads "E.E.03 (arrow)40. The bomb itself is deactivated (naturally) but it was never drilled out or damaged cosmetically in the process. I don't know if the spring in the striker is original, as it seems rather weak.

That's a proper mills bomb, yes. And that base plug is the ww2 type. The base plate is another thing altogether. It's a steel disc that screws onto that base plug to launch the grenade from a launcher cup.

OK, well I got a grenade in today from another CGN'er. I had thought it would be a No.32 Mills bomb, but oddly enough it's not. It's a nearly complete No.23 MkII Rod-type mills bomb. The pin holes are intact too, not broken off as is so often the case.

It's missing the spoon, pin and rod, but nevertheless this is a really rare grenade made in April 1917.

Sadly, I still need a No.32 Mills bomb with base, so if anyone has two and wants to add a really rare mills bomb variant to their collection, please pm me to arrange the trade :)

Considering the unliklihood that many of these No.23's are floating around, I'll be looking to trade this one for a complete No.32 grenade (i.e. complete with spoon, ring, and launcher base).

In the meantime, hope you guys like the pics of it!

On another note, anyone know where I can find a No.5 or No.23 grenade spoon (lever) or a Mills bomb pin? Repros would be fine as well. (the spoon is different than the No.36 spoon).

Hank usually has them on his table at the shows here in Calgary. PM me on the 8th or 9th as a reminder to check the Easter show. It's on the 10th April.

At least I know he had the 36 lever and pins, and thought he had the #5. I can check.

JS: All the ones I see online are resin castings, not metal ones suitable for robbing bits off.

Koldt: VERY much appreciate the offer. Anything you can do to assist is GREATLY appreciated!!

I'm planning on taking my camera to take a pic of his bins of stuff. I've got a table, so hopefully get it on Thursday and post here for guys to make a shopping list. After Friday, I probably won't be here on the board as I've got some fixing of stuff I have to do for guys that are coming to town for the show and bringing broke stuff.

Plus I think Klunk is staying at my house, and some wobbly pops will be cleared out of my fridge and lies to be told..
