I recently bought a s&w 586-M (no dash) with 8 3/8" barrel from an old revolver guy, however, it has some timing and endshake issue and tends to blast my face with powder residue and sometimes lead.
since 586-1 changed the hand design it's almost impossible to find the correct part to fix it myself. also, there are some bare patches and scratches I want to get rid of.

Does anyone know a good revolver smith in southern ontario? I know Nick from vulcan gun refinishing, but commercial revolver is not his expertise.
Or have anyone tried send it back to s&w factory for refurbishment? from their website servicing+refinishing together is about ~CAD400 which is very tempting indeed.

thanks

Check with Wolverine Supplies in Manitoba. I believe they are one of two authorized Smith & Wesson service centres in Canada. From what I have heard, you don't want to do business with the other one.

My 'smith in Kitimat might do the job for you. His bluing is about as good as I have ever seen. PM me and I can give you his number to phone.

Take Care

Bob

You should contact Jason Spencer at Gunco in Nepean. His work is first rate and he's very reasonable. If you have trouble finding his info send me a PM and I'll get it to you.
