Where to find the 6.5 swedish surplus ammo?

All ammo for sale in Canada first has to be tested by the FEDS and approved for sale. If it's not already on the list, it's a long slow tedious process to get it approved, and no guarantee with old surplus that it gets approved either so it's a bit of a gamble.

I didn't know 6.5 Swede was ever available as surplus. 7.5x55 I've seen but never 6.5. Commercial only.

It hasn't been available in Canada since International Firearms out of Montreal moved most of their operations to the US under the Century banner.

The last ammo they brought in was around 1993. It was available in both 140grn boat tail or 160 grain open base cupronickle roundnose.

There was some repackaged 6.5x55 available from Ammomart back when old Tom Higginson ran it and was willing to go through the hoops to bring it in but his grandson isn't so inclined. AmmoMart also sold components that were surplus, such as powder they dubbed #44, 140/160 grain bullets, Berdan primed empty cases. I believe Tom told me he brought all that in through International on a mutual deal.
