Where to get 8-40 plug screws?

I'm looking to find two 8-40 plug screws to plug two holes in a receiver that no longer uses the receiver sight that was once on it. Ideally, they would be stopped plug screws, but I'd settle for regular plug screws if I can find them. I know Brownell's carries the stopped plug screws at $19.99 a dozen (out of stock) and the regular plug screws at $8.99 a dozen. But I shudder to think what shipping would be.

Does anyone know where I can find 8-40 plug screws in Canada? Thanks.

Regular grub screws or set screws, ones used on hubs and shafts aren't 8x40... most likely 8x36

thanks. ya 8-40 is a very special thread I've not seen on anything except scope mounts. I posted a WTB and had a deal within a day. you guys are all awesome.

just looked as I assumed it was UNF,and now see its 6-40 standard, 8-36 is the finest I have in the bins,

Shipping from Brownell's isn't actually that bad - they have a small box to canada rate.

I bought a set of screws from amazon for about 50$ - for this very reason.

I just got a response from Brownells regarding shipping costs to Canada for a dozen plug screws: "about $18". I'm glad I found some elsewhere.

I needed the same thing and just went to the counter at the gunstore where they mount scopes, asked the guy if he had any of those lying around, he reached into the little compartment in his screwdriver kit and grabbed about a dozen and asked if thats all I needed or if I wanted more lol, be warned about half were plastic thou.

I'm glad you did too, but just FYI that's 18$ all in - no customs BS

Drop by your local gunsmith and ask; they usually keep the plugs when they install scopes.

Most Gunsmiths will have new or used ones at hand. should not cost more then a couple Bucks.
