Well after begging and working my dad bought a used Olympic Arms AR-15 Car-97. Well one month after owning it it costs to much to shoot(for me anyways) so I'm wondering where my dad could purchase a .22 Ar-15 of some sort.

TSE for .22 DPMS upper
MArstar for CZ V-22 uppers

good luck

Unless I was simply shrugged off by a bad employee, I was told that they did not have or stocked DPMS .22 Uppers at TSE...

From what I've heard, the Marstar dedicated .22LR uppers are first rate. As for TSE, can't believe you got bad service from "the boys!" I've always gotten top drawer service from TSE and would highly recommend them to any of my friends. Try PM'ing TSE JR here on CGN. JR is da' MAN! Great guy and I'm sure he can help you if they have any .22LR uppers in stock, or will put your name down for their next shipment. Bear in mind, since 9/11 it takes a lot more paperwork and a lot more BS in order to export firearms, especially military "style" rifles from the US and import them into Canada. Oftentimes there is a long waiting period in order to get State Dept. approval and the end user certificates to be issued. All that aside, you should get great customer service from TSE!

well i said that's who WOULD have them.. but i didn't say they had any in stock... seems lately it's been hard for TSE to get export permits on DPMS stuff... they get shipments every so often.... if you're lucky they may have a .22 upper in the shipment, but you best get in line....

save yourself a few bucks and taxes.. buy a used upper

I apologize if you got shrugged off... There really is no excuse. (unless I did it  )

We don't ahve any .22LR uppers in stock, only a full rifle: $1099

BTW, a .223 upper will fit on this lower as well.

why not just get a 22 kit for use in your AR15, Colt and Cienner make nice units...

well to start ciener kits aren't that cheap... and i think you get better accuracy from a barrel that's got proper twist and diameter for .22 isntead of a .223 barrel....

I bought my Ceiner kit from Wolverine Supplies. Seems to hit the paper when I shoot it, and generally in the area I want it to go. I don't have any accurracy figures as I was just plinking.

Yes same as smgcon, my Colt 22 conversoin kit hits the paper too. Although I tried it once and I did not test with different ammo brands. I was firing Remington Hyper velocity and I don't think they are the most accurate.

I can hit clays at 25m and small baloons inside the Abby range with mine, that's good enough for practice and indoor fun, anything more serious and the .22lr is a poor substitute for real .223/5.56mm

1:7 barrels will lead quiet badly with .22 ammo and in all guns the gas port can become fouled.

Not a death sentence to the gun - just needs to be cleaned.

Bets bet is to buy a 1:12 or 1:14 barrel and use the upper as a dedicated .22LR gun.
