Hi, anyone knows where to search for a decent Finnish Mosin? I am in favor of M39 as it looks much like K31, other variants will also consider.

Just love the old milisurp, can't help.

Thanks in advance.

All the best.

You might have best luck posting an ad in the EE, i haven't seen any online distributors posting something like that anytime recently. good luck!

I thought we had one a last year ? Mind you, a year is a long time :).

Maybe. Mostly we seem to have Enfield/K98 threads lately, and a smattering of Ross, K31 and a few others. I think the mods screwed up putting the mosins and SVTs into the Red Rifles forum.

I still don't understand the rationale behind that decision with respect to the true Milsurp Russian rifles. That seemed to be the decision of a particular moderator, and there was a thread where many complained but the move still went ahead.

It's not my sandbox however!

Back on topic: M39's are my favorite Mosin Nagant pattern, I foolishly sold mine a couple years ago and have regretted it ever since. The current prices seem to have definitely moved in and upward direction since that time!

Yeah, I always thought of the 'Red Rifles' forum as one for SKS's and CZ858s/VZ 58s plus the occasional other 'modern' 'Red' rifle. (eg CZ 52s or Dragunov)

Even the T97 threads which are a 'Red' rifle show up in the 'Black Rifle' forum.

M39 is very much like K31 in both dimensions and weights.

7.62x54R is also very similar to GP11.

They are both very accurate and they can do better than the people behind the trigger. Ammo is much easy to get for M39 than K31 as there are many surplus rounds available in much lower price. But I doubt I will burn my M39 with cheap and corrosive milisurp.

K31 is better machined and engineered but M39 is solid and simple.

You can't afford to miss either of them.
