Alright, I am working on a small display and would like to have a Canadian red ensign as a backdrop. Since the rifles are WWII era, the appropriate era ensign would be best. I have looked and can only find the latest version used form 1957 up to the adoption of the maple Leaf in 1965.

So anyone have any idea of where one could track down a replica (or even a vintage) 1921-1957 ensign? I have checked Ebay and the only ones are just terrible with incorrect dimensions, colors ect.

Thanks.

Paul Fromm has them at CAFE: the Canadian Association for Free Expression. He has a website at cafe.canadafirst.net or you can e-mail him at cafe@canadafirst.net.

I have one of Paul's flags up in my kitchen right now, intend to get one of the 3-by-5-foot ones next.

He also has a nice postcard about our flag and he has a postcard with the words to Canada's official national anthem, "The Maple Leaf Forever", which was our official national anthem through the period of both World Wars. I like TMLF as an anthem as it stresses the fact that Canada has a real history of two peoples, formerly enemies, who have come together to buildsomething bigger and better. The Liberal anthem, "O Canada" has entirely different meanings depending upon language: a boring trudge in English versus a French-Canadian patriotic song in French..... which I find far too divisive for my tastes.

Anyway, he will fix you up right quick.

the guys at the armoury in victoria can be pretty helpful. My uncle Clive worked there for years and years restoring. Coincidentally he also built most of miniature world. Anyway its worth a shot for someone serious, they would probably love to help, since thats all they do.

check Flag Town in Barrie, Ontario. They can and will make you anything.
They are still in business or were the last time I was to Toronto on the 400 6 months ago.
