like others say, brother dont worry about it, chrome or no chrome, still got youself a nice sks, i have shot corrosive from mine and then got home and couldnt clean for 6 hours, i had no rust, cleaned with boiling water, in a turkey pan, then patches through gas tube and barrel with solvent /dry / oil . i use q-tips to nook and cranny all the tight spots, take bolt apart, with practice you can get r done in like 30 mins. Your sks wont melt the second you're done with corrosive ammo, just gotta get the confidence to strip it and clean it, boiling water being most important to flush the corrosive salts left behind, after you dry it, its just plain old dirty....clean as usual. goood to go
