where to get casting manuals?

I didn't know Lyman came out with a 49th, I have the 48th. I think I paid about $28 and if you can't get it locally try Ellwood Epps(1-705-689-5333) one of our sponsors and about the nicest people to deal with. If you want to get some serious info, order the book "Cast Bullets for Beginner & Expert" by Joseph F. Brennan JR from the Cast Bullet Association (google for address info of see if you can get direct from Mr Brennan). Almost 500 pages of great stuff, whatever the cost, it's worth it. I noticed you have a 450Marlin, I have one, shoot only cast in it and it is about the bestest bush/lever gun ever. If you need load data you can PM me.BB

i think castboolits.com is a pretty darn good interactive e-reference manual of sorts... i can tell you i am learning a lot from surfing that site.

For a how to manual rather than for loading data a very interesting little book is "Jacketed Performance With Cast Bullets" by Veral Smith who owns LBT (Lead Bullet Technology). Its just 131 pages but its packed with information. Its available on LBT's web site (lbtmoulds.com) just add the WWW. On the left side of the page under products click on Books.

NEI Handtools (915-772-0259) mould catalog is worth having.

thank's for the info guys, i just placed an order with optics planet for the lyman casting hand book #4 and the lyman 49th plus some others for around $100 shipped
