Like lots of people I have a SMLE kicking around that I rarely shoot. It has a full barrel and the fixed sights still there, but the wooden stock got " sporterized "

I'm not a big fan of the SMLE but I figure if I could find a full stock for it, it would be more cool. Is there a whole pile of these stocks lying around for sale somewhere?

I got one recently from Springfield ($60 USD) and it was in pristine condition. Stripped, sanded and finished. It came out really nice.

And I now have a sporterized stock for sale real cheap... LOL

The only downside is shipping to Canada is $30 as opposed to $8 to ship in the U.S.A.

Better than the deal at Numrich, $25 handling fee + $30 shipping...

When I order from Springfield, I always buy three or four sets for SMLEs. That way shipping fee per part isn't that bad... ;)

So what is the whole scoop on importing old enfield parts from the US? I have seen/read that if the order is under $100 then you don't need anything permit-wise? What is the best way to go about ordering a set of parts worth more than $100?

Always depends on which part. Bringing receivers and barrels is hell. But wood parts, bits and pieces like bands and swivels and screws, you're ok below $500 IIRC. I've placed orders many times with three different supplyiers, and sometimes The Canadian customs open the box and charge duty fees, sometimes they simply don't bother and it's a few extra dollars in my pocket. I'm about to place an order actually with Springfield so I hope the nice spring weather will make the customs officers all happy and joyful and they will overlook my box :D

Gunparts lists No. 1 Mk III stock sets at $75.25US plus a buck for shipping(likely more coming this way). No metal. Butt stocks come in assorted lengths too.

Lou is correct, $500. No bolts, mags, barrels, or receivers (without permits). Some will tell you it's $100 but they are not up to date or are leaving company policy at the old limit of $100.

Prepare for the phone to be busy!
I think they only have the one guy doing the orders. Great service and product though, shipped secure + fast.

The guy knows his stuff too...
