Where to get gas checks?

Didn't see anyin the WSS catalogue....Where in Canada can I get gas checks for .45 colt bullets?

I've ordered .45 cal rifle gas checks from Buffalo Arms Co. They ship most things to Canada, although recently they stopped shipping brass, not 100% sure about gas checks as I haven't ordered any recently.

They are good people to deal with and get stuff shipped out quite quickly.

EDIT: I just remembered that Reliable Gun in Vancouver once dug up a box for me.

Chris.

"...recently they stopped shipping brass..." That's because exporting components without the U.S. export permit is illegal, Stateside. They got caught. Gas checks are components.
What are you loading that you think you need 'em? No gas checks with any .45 Colt load in my manuals. Just curious.

How many are you looking for--I may still have a couple boxes (1000) each.

Let me know and perhaps we can deal.

I doubt I need mor ethan 1000:p

I only want to use them on 300gr ".454" bullets that I use in my colt carbine. They have the little lip for gas checks. Might help accuracy, I dont' know...Gott a try it first.:)

If your mold is cut for a gas check, you're best off using one. I've gotten gas checks from Epps when I ran low, Midsouth other times.

I dpon't have a mold, I buy them:p

Closest I've got to casting is melting up some lead and pouring into a 5/8 ratchet socket and making a slug for a 12 guage.:p

Slippery slope, dude! :D With gas checks in hand, you need a way to size them onto the bullets. Usually done with a sizer/lubricator a the same time as they are lubed.

Take a look at the Lee Push Through sizers. Cheap Used in your regular reloading press.

Cheers

Interestingly, this does not apply if you want shotgun brass, which is all I use for Cowboy shooting.....
Also, if you you looking for these gas checks for .45 colt bullets to shoot Cowboy Action, SASS rules do not allow gas checks

So you are buying bullets, that should have a gas check? Why don't you buy them with the gas check installed, lubed, sized, etc. Have we determined whether the bullet has provision for a gas check?

:)

I have a bullet sizing die, too.

I bought them because it's what I liked.

I like playing around with stuff, so I thought i would play around with some gas checks. I don't know if the gas checks are going to make a difference or not, I thought I would try out a few, see if accuracy improves or suffers or stays the same.
