Where to get grips

Hi all,

I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask this question but here goes!

I recently became the owner of my first revolver and I am very happy with it! However, I would like to change out the grips on it since it came with synthetic grips. The revolver is a Ruger New Vaquero and I'd love to find a set of the Ruger rosewood grips with the silver eagles on them but I am open to other options as well. Does anyone know a good place in Canada to get grips?

I found a few US websites that have them but won't ship internationally. Does anyone know if I could have them sent to a US contact who would then forward them to me? Are there any rules about shipping just the wooden grips across the border? I haven't found any rules about this since they are just the grips but if anyone has any experience or thoughts on this that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the help!

Check out eagle grips. They have a wide variety of vaquero grips. And they ship to Canada. I have several of their grips, top notch quality.

I've purchased three sets of wood grips for revolvers from Worldwide Grips (Thailand) - just Google them, they sell on ebay and Amazon and have their own website as well. Two sets were outstanding, the third needed just a slight sanding to sit 100% flush, but I'm ery happy with them. Shipping was fast each time, 2-3 weeks max.
I have also purchased aged/distressed faux ivory and bone revolver grips from N.C. Ordnance Inc. (North Carolina) and ArizonaCustomGrips (eBay) but they also sell classic wood grips as well. I am very pleased with the quality and value of both companies.

As already mentioned, Eagle grips are an excellent choice for the NMV. Likewise: Altamont grips. Have Ruger NMV revolvers fitted with both brands. It bears mentioning that Altamont grips are available in thinner and thicker grip profiles. Both Eagle and Altamont do ship to Canada.
Hogue, also manufactures grips for the NMV

I've bought from Eagle as well with no issues. They are pricey though.

Brownell's in the US carries factory Ruger grips. They do ship to Canada, but they may or may not ship Ruger products depending on the arrangement they have with Ruger.

If you want factory grips, you can also call Snapshots - the Ruger distributer in Canada. I've ordered factor grips through them but it can take a few months.

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for the great replies! I was looking at Eagle Grips earlier and they do have some beautiful looking grips, I am glad to see so many positive reviews about them too!

Thanks again!

Alex, I just visited Altamont's website, and their FAQ's says they do not ship internationally. US only.
