Where to get Kids hunting clothing ?

With Christmas coming, we are thinking of getting the kids some hunting clothing. I'm getting frustrated with trying to take them with me wearing street clothes in dark colors.

Beside the obvious places (cabelas.ca and basspro ), does anyone have any other ideas where to get them clothes.

I'm also specifically looking for kids size mesh face masks.

Most of my kids early hunting clothes were hand me downs from friends. How old are your kids? When they're young they grow out of them so fast that it's hardly worth buying new ones. Our hunting group just passed their kids clothes on to other kids as they grew out of them. Ask some hunting buddies if they have outgrown clothes, unless you really want to spend big $$$ for new ones. Your local Wally World will carry some fairly inexpensive camo especially after the season ends and they mark the stuff down,usually Jan/Feb.
 
Norris Bait and Tackle in Westport generally has lots of youth and kids camo and hunting clothes. Not too far from you, 1.5hrs. PM me if you need directions...
 
Thanks for the info guys, I already thought of the other guys I hunt with and most of them don't have kids.

My kids are 6 and 8, and we have found some clothes at cabelas.ca and basspro. I think for this xmas, we are going to get the grandparent's and aunt's and uncles to buy them some "oversized" hunting clothes.
We may be able to get two years out of some of it, as we hand it down from one to the other.

Maybe I'll post a "wanted" ad on the forum as well.

My son is 2 years 8 months old I get his cloths all over except for his vest and hiking socks the only place I could find good quality was fron Mtn Equipment Co-op in North Vancouver, BC.
 
Does your wife sew?

We made el-cheapo camo for myself, by buying fabric and a pattern for a sweat-shirt type hoody, with zippered front, plus basically a pair of sweat pants. The wife did a wicked job sewing them up. Double stitched, re-inforced all seams, knees, elbows etc.
I've had that same outfit for something like 15 years now.

It's pretty dated and not fancy. A very basic 'military' style camo pattern, but it works well in the spruce timber in early fall hunts.
I have some white polar fleece type material and intend to make a new set of November deer hunting camo.

For the last 15 years or so, my November 'camo' has been a pair of white sweats that I bought at Work Warehouse. I made stencils of leaves and spray painted greys, browns, black etc, on it. Works excellent and extremely cheap (as I am).



If you want to spend money there is no limit to what you can get. Some pretty decent camo is available pretty cheap at Wal-Mart. But the sky is the limit on that stuff, if you insist on the 'best'.



Wait a sec'... you live in Ontario and hafta wear ORANGE... ha, ha, good luck with that. Just kidding. ;)


Seriously, I still think if your wife can sew, that's the way to go. Failing that, buy the cheapest stuff you can.
