Hey everyone,
Anyone know where i can upgrade my Savage 12fv synthetic tupperware stock, with availability in Canada? B&C has some nice ones, but cant find where to get them. Thanks

Hey Event,

I put a B&C on my Savage 12fv and got it from Alberta Tactical Rifle. Now rhunters thread is going to lead you to a US company that will ship one up to you, but in this instance I wouldn't go that route. That is because, as I found, the bolt spacing was slightly off on my Savage 12 (new guns have different spacing) and needed some work done on it to get it to fit. Unless your into doing surgery on your stock, you probably want to go the gunsmith route so you are not sitting at your kitchen table scratching your head.

Check with Rick www.albertatacticalrifle.com and see if he has any left and you can maybe exchange bolt measurements to see if you'll run into the same issue. If he's out of them, then maybe go over that issue with another source before having it shipped.

#2999 Savage Short Action Varmint/Tactical with or without Accu-Trigger. Fits the short action "two digit models" only (Model 10, 10GY,11F,12,16,etc.)with heavy contour barrel and top loading internal magazine, with action screws measuring 4 1/4" center to center only.

As long as he has the above, and a staggerfeed rifle then it should work fine. Some of the new Savage centerfeed rifles have different spacing so that is probably what you speak of.

If not, he can order stock:

#2997 Savage Short Action Varmint/Tactical with or without Accu-Trigger, Fits NEW STYLE “CENTERFEED” OR “INLINE FEED” Fits the short action "two digit models" only (such as Model 10, 10GY, 11F, 12, 16 etc.) with heavy contour barrel and blind top loading internal magazine, with action screws measuring 4.389"center to center only.

So it would be either #2997 or #2999, also depending if he has a short action or long action.

Well either way it's an issue and a guy can find himself hitting his head against the table if he's not aware of it and just orders ####x thinking it will fit. This is the extra info/insurance you can get when dealing with a gunsmith and while your at it you can throw in a bedding job. :)
