Hey guys I've started modding my little 10/22 (tasco scope, steel lips banana clip) and now I want to get a decent stock for it among other things.

Aside from the krinker plinker stock (which looks kinda shabby IMO) what are my options for a mean looking pistol grip?

I got all excited when I found out about the RBprecision evolution stock with all it's AR upgradeability but not only have they halted production, but it's damn near impossible to get one in Canada!

Any suggestions?

Also I'm looking for a good fluted barrel and an upgraded extractor if anyone can point me in the right direction.

oh by the way, I know butler creek makes a folding stock with a pistol grip but that looks pretty weaksauce

Here's what I like...
evolution stock (drool):

You really think that looks better than the krinker plinker?

K I have the BC folder and I like it. Keep in mind that you cant really attach a bipod with it tho... unless I simply dont know how. The ring clamp for the barrel is in the way.

Uncle Mikes makes a sling/bipod stud that goes over the barrel band screw.

Well beauty is always in the eye of the beholder but yeah that looks way better than the krinker plinker to me.

Not only that but you can put all sorts of AR goodies on it as well as 4 rails (not including the factory one on top of the action)

There was somebody trying to pawn off a 10/22 wearing one of those things in the Black Rifle EE. Why not buy a Norinco AR-15 for $700? Ammo cost?

^yeah but can you get it in Canada?

That's the main question here. There are all sorts of great pistol grip stocks out there but it looks like they're near impossible to find in Kanukistan

Well i happen to have one, so someone somewhere in this Country has em I suppose.

Stock came with the rifle many years ago, so cant say where it originally was purchased.

I have a buttler creek stock on mine. With a little work, it now looks like this.

It locks up solid as the engaging parts of the locking mechanism are made of metal, as opposed to some manufacturers plastic parts. Cons.. required bedding, a bit of work removing the mold lines, and something on the metal butt to feel nicer on your cheek.

All that said its a decent blaster. Available from the evil empire of outdoor stores, Hole Sale. Not to mention alot of other places.
Dont waste your $$$ on the crappy red dot though.

EDIT* If I could have found an Evo stock I would have bought that tho. Built one for a friend once. Pretty neat rig.

^that looks damn good my man, but knowing that there is even a remote possibility of getting my hands on an EVO stock or something similar has solidified my resolve.

Where'd your friend get his/her EVO stock from? They're NLA but supposedly production will start again.

I bought my evo stock off of ebay. It was a second, listed as "Aluminum Stock" There you go. My secret is out!

It was considered a second because a couple holes were not properly located. I filled them in with Devcon Aluminum Putty (its machineable and very solid), re-did the holes, and refinished the stock. And Voila. Insert pimped 10/22 and your fav. AR hardware and its off to the races. Its like playing with lego, for adults.

As for the tapco stock, Tapco wont ship to Canada, but there are a few dealers in the states who will. I got my Tapco SKS stock from the sks man. try googling that name and see if they have the 10/22 stocks.

For those that have tried it... How is the cheek weld on the tapco stock. I imagine using the butt adapter is neccessary to use iron sights. Does it feel good? See,s like a decent enough way to go with optics to me. I am curious about iron sights though.

I'm assuming that's a Dockter knockoff?

I have been wondering how a real Dockter or C-More would work on a 10/22 for gophers...

I don't know who I dislike more, the canadian vendors with their lack of selection, or the american vendors with their snobby attitude.

where the blazes can I get a damned pistol grip stock?

Nobody on ebay wants to sell me a tapco t6 or a christies, no vendors want to sell me a tapco, christies won't even reply to my emails, and the damn evo stock is NLA and even if it wasn't nobody would want to sell me one anyways....

Halp plz :(
