Where to get replacement stocks in Canada

Post a picture. Please.

Your description really does not tell what firearm you are looking for a stock for.

A Ballard falling block? A muzzle loader?

Easier to get good answers.

Mostly, unless you are good with shopping across the US side of the line, you are looking for someone with a duplicator that will cut what you need.

I am looking for wood for an 1861 Ballard 1/2 stock Kentucky breach loading military rifle. The butt stock configuration is typical Ballard and the fore stock has no bands holding it on.Graham

Are you trying to replace with original, replace with new wood, same pattern, or simply find a nice stock for it?

Dig around if you can get the search to work for you, and check out the terms "Stock Duplicator" IIRC there was a thread relating to the guys that have them around the country.

If you are willing to go outside Canada, start with Treebone Carving. They may have an appropriate pattern. You might ask on the ASSRA forum, as well as on the single shot rifles forum and doublegunjournal.com. Someone may have a take-off that they have been holding onto.
CPA Rifles has several Ballard patterns as well, with pictures on their site.

Just a nickel bet, but I'd bet that there are not enough of them around to make the odds of any of the stock carvers having a pattern of the original military wood in their stores, pretty slim.

Hi, Try Chris Wilcox in Lumby B.C. I believe he has one of those duplicator machines. I know he does make gunstocks as his main work. Phone # is 250-547-6480

Lots of different style stocks and customizations here. Shouldn't have any trouble shipping over the border.
